Liquid Migration

One of my favorite visuals are the backs of the alewives moving in formation upstream to spawn. There aren't too many places to witness what used to be a regular occurence in many of the rivers and streams in Maine. I find the bridge over the inlet at Damariscotta Mills to be my favorite spot to watch this very moving event each spring.
