Sometimes failure pushes you to try harder. That was certainly the case on this evening, when what promised to be a colorful sunset turned into a dud. Since I didn't get what I came for, I stayed late, working the scene into the darkness. What I slowly became aware of was the fact that the beacon was much more prominent at this late hour and there was even more color in the sky in my long exposures. I searched and searched for a decent foreground, eventually ending up directly below the tower, looking at these rocks that formed a nice leading line.
