I got to play storm chaser yesterday. I've followed the weather since I was very small. My mom likes to tell stories about how when it came time to go inside and take shelter, I'd be doing the opposite, going outside or staring out the window, watching the storm unfold. Growing up in Mississippi, we had a lot of storms like this. Things here in Maine are a lot more subdued in the summer, and I have to remind the folks who think that Nor'Easters are bad about tornadoes and hurricanes.
In case you were wondering, the sky really did look like this. The only adjustments I made to the file were to warm the colors, desaturate them, and bring up the shadows so the barn and field weren't so dark. The contrast and clarity are both at normal levels.
