A beautiful patch of lupines sits behind the office of the Trailing Yew, and the view from here has always been one of my favorites on the island. I love the rooftop geometry, along with the iconic cedar shingles and familiar establishments, including the island church, Black Duck Emporium, and Island Inn, reaching tall with its flagpole in the background. A summer thunderstorm filled the sky to the north in this view. I returned to this exact spot about 5 different times over the course of 3 days here, waiting to get the perfect conditions.
