The oldest surviving oyster schooner, the Isaac H Evans, rests on the pier at Bristol Marine Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor. I journeyed there this morning to see what I could see. Boothbay is highly seasonal, and most everything felt cold and vacant, which is the opposite of what attracts me. There were stirrings of the upcoming season, such as this stately windjammer pointed out to sea, uncovered. As usual, there were a LOT of tradespeople working on various projects around town. New homes, renovations, and quite a bit of activity right here at the shipyard, too. I look forward to getting back here soon and I think I'll be spending quite a bit of time here this summer, building out a new body of work in this area that is closer to my new home, and that I haven't explored too much in my photography career. Getting out on the water, visiting with my friend Bob Krist, and ranging from Ocean Point to Newagen are all on the list.
