I was a little early to the majority of the fall colors in Baxter State Park in late September. The benefit of coming early, though, were the colorful trees lining the swamps and ponds. These trees turn first, and lose thier leaves first, so I was glad to capture them in full brilliance before the leaves were gone. This image was taken after the colorful sunrise at Abol Bridge. The high clouds softened the late morning light and created a great way to showcase this maple tree hanging over the pond. The cool blues of the sky were a more effective contrast than warm sunrise hues would have been.
