I've eyed this bog off of Route 1 in Newcastle for over a decade now, admiring the spiky trees and voluminous heath and wondering about making an image. Well, I finally got my chance a week ago while on my way to meet up with friends. Morning mist was burning off and the steam created the perfect atmosphere to catch the light coming in from the sun rising behind. That lone dead snag standing in the back provided the perfect focal point and I built the image around it. I can't wait to print this one big!
