One of the most spectacular scenes I saw this fall was this misty morning in Sugar Hill. Sugar Hill is a magical place. I went here looking for one of my favorite Chris Whiton scenes of a maple-lined road, but after seeing that it was still on the green side, I looked around for other things that might make be of interest. Well, the mist in the valley below was mesmerizing, and this is just to the right and a little later from the earlier image I shared with the trees framing Mount Washington. Here we're looking at Mt. Lafayette and Franconia Ridge, one of New England's best hiking routes! I loved how the old rock wall and maple framed the background, and the mist formed these wonderful layers leading into the background. Soon after I took this, the entire scene was enveloped in dense fog and you couldn't see the background at all.
