The Hunter

I am a hunter, a seeker of experience. Some of the risks I take may seem dangerous or foolish to some of you, but to me, they are anything but. They are absolutely necessary for me to sustain my life force and to power my soul. I hope that the spoils I bring back from these experiences are sustaining not just to myself, but to others. That's why I share them. I don't want to provide an escape from the world, but a connection to it, because that's what I feel when I'm out there. Everything is connected. Everyone is connected. I am sure of that.
This was one of those moments of profound awe and wonder, of feeling connected, standing under the stars on Chimney Pond beneath Mount Katahdin as the constellation Orion, the Hunter, rose above the peak night before last.
