As great as the sky was on this evening, the real interest for me was in the rocky outcropping and tide pools in this typical inland oceanfront in Harpswell. There are so many spots like this up and down the coast, and they lack the attention the more dramatic and exposed points get, but there is something very attractive about them. This is the Skolfield Shores Preserve in Harpswell, and the boathouse in the background was built in 1910.
