West Quoddy has great dark skies to practice night photography. We were here with a group during our puffin workshop, and I wanted to find the best angle for participants to get a night shot. Most of the group stayed on the lawn, but I followed an overgrown path off of the Coast Guard trail to this field with a clear view to the lighthouse and skies to the south. I love the way the light raidiates from the lighthouse tower, and the contrast of the cooler color temperature of the beacon contrasts nicely with the warm tones of the milky way. Those two small fir trees made nice points of interest, as well. I love standing under the stars and hope to do more night photography in the next few weeks.
