A big casualty of the historic storms of January 2024 was this dramatic rock overhang at Pemaquid Point. I've photographed it many times, but this unreleased image might be my favorite. It's pretty wild to think of the forces it took to topple it. Although the storm itself did the trick, I'm sure that centuries of waves, freeze and thaw cycles, and good old gravity did the trick in weakening it to the point that it was ready to go.
