I hiked up Clarry Hill in Union, Maine to catch the full moon rise last night. I knew it would be pretty cold, so I put on an extra layer. That really didn't prepare me for what I faced when I got close to the top of the hill. 30 mph wind gusts were whipping the snow and along with an air temperature of around 7 degrees, the cold was truly bone chilling. Instead of turning around, I got excited about the extreme weather and cinched down my hood and balled my hands into fists inside my gloves. I was determined to capture the beautiful snow drifting across the boulder-strewn roadway that crossed the crest of the hill.
