A lone larch tree, also known as a tamarack, stands out from a misty hillside in Central Vermont.
I’m in between workshops on my run of 4 in a row, having just completed our fall trips to Vermont and New Hampshire. The fall colors were incredible, and we had great groups on both legs. I can’t believe how lucky I am to do this.
This was taken the morning the Vermont workshop ended and we transferred to New Hampshire. On our way out, fog and mist was burning off in an increasingly bright sun.
When I reached this marsh, I filled with joy! What a beautiful scene!
This little larch had just enough distance away from the steamy hillside behind it that it stood out nicely and provided a great focal point and storytelling aspect. We seem to identify with trees, and I in my mind this told a hopeful story of a young tree venturing off on its own, but still supported by the watchful care of the community behind it. Look at the variety of species on the hillside!
